A Song Tag. Again.

This is a song tag I found here, and only slightly altered it.

I like doing these when I have nothing else to write about.  🙂  And, since I’m obnoxious, I am going to TRY to give 3 answers to each category.

And here we go……………….

A Song You Like With a Color in The Title:

Gold – Sir Sly, Blue Jeans – Lana del Rey, Silver Lining – Rilo Kiley

A Song That Reminds You of Summertime:

Say Hey – Michael Franti & Spearhead, Woman Woman – AWOLNATION, Little Things – Bush

The first two because of the overall sound of them — upbeat and feel good-ish.  The last because it reminds me of the summer of ’96, which was the most epic of my teenage years.

A Song That Reminds You of Someone You Would Rather Forget About:

I can’t think of any song or any person that I would rather forget about.  Everyone comes into your life for a reason.

Another Brick in the Wall, Part II was released in 1979 but was still on the Billboard charts in 1980.  So, I’m counting it.  So, there….

A song that you think everybody should listen to:

What It’s Like – Everlast, Be As You Are – Mike Posner, Simple Man – Shinedown

100 Day Song Challenge (061-065)

A continuation of my 100 Day Song Challenge.

Day 061  I think this is the most famous song by a band/artist I like.  Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots.   (I want an adult Big Wheel….)

Day 062  Out of all the Christmas songs, I like this one the most.  Hands down Christmas Eve/Sarajevo by Trans Siberian Orchestra.

Day 063  You have to listen to this song.  It’s wicked.  High Enough by K. Flay.  I crank it up every time it comes on the radio.

Day 064  A song that you think hardly anyone on this page has heard.  I was thinking that few people have probably heard New Soul by Yael Naim, but the video has over 5 million views, so I guess I’m wrong about that….

Day 065  A song you want played at your funeral.  Good Riddance by Green Day.

100 Day Song Challenge (056-060)

A continuation of my 100 Day Song Challenge.  (I’m making up for lost time….)

Day 056  A song from The Rolling Stone Greatest Guitarists list.  This was difficult.  So, I wrote down some of my favorites from the list and then went eenie meenie miney mo.  #72 John Frusciante of Red Hot Chili Peppers.  Here is Under the Bridge.  Let me just say that I was disappointed to find James Hetfield ranked at #87.  Man….  How is he that low on the list?

Day 057  Best song out of the last 10 songs posted on this pageDirty Diana by Michael Jackson.

Day 058  If I had to do karaoke, this would be the song I’d choose.  Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.  And hopefully with a bunch of other people….

Day 059  For a laugh, I’d like to see someone choose this song for karaoke.  Baby, One More Time by Britney Spears.  And hopefully it would be a big burly dude doing the singing.  Ha!

Day 060  A song that has a dance that goes with it.  The Humpty Dance by Digital Underground.  I hate this song, just for the record.

100 Day Song Challenge (051-055)

A very belated continuation of my 100 Day Song Challege.

Day 51  A good summertime song.  Say Hey by Michael Franti & Spearhead.  This song just brings up summery images.  Don’t ya think?

Day 52  The worst Christmas number one ever.  White Christmas by Bing Crosby.  This song makes me cringe every time I hear it.

Day 53  A feel good song.  Home by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros.

Day 54  A song from an artist/band you’d love to see live (even if they are no more).  Good Bye Blue Sky by Pink Floyd.  I would have loved to see their Wall tour.  Pure genius.

Day 55  A song from the last artist/band you did see live.  Thunderstruck by 2Cellos.  I don’t go to many concerts sadly.  But these guys were awesome!!

100 Day Song Challenge (046-50)

A continuation of my 100 Day Song Challenge.

Day 046:  A good song from the 2000s.  Sleeping Sickness by City and Colour.

Day 047:  The worst song by one of your favorite artists/bands. On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons.  Imagine Dragons aren’t really my favorite, but I do like a lot of their songs.  Not this one….

Day 048:  A song you can remember from an advert.  What is the advert? Starry Eyed Surprise by Paul Oakenfold from that Diet Coke commercial.

Day 049:  A song you think an artist can cover.  Who should cover it? I really have no idea.  I do like the few remakes I’ve heard when someone sings a rap song.  And, the ones I’ve liked best of those were females singing rap songs.  So……Adele or Florence Welch singing……I dunno??  Fantastic Voyage by Coolio??  Ha!

Day 050:  A song you think everyone has forgotten.  I haven’t heard this one in a while.  Fire Water Burn by The Bloodhound Gang.

100 Day Song Challenge (041-045)

A continuation of my 100 Day Song Challenge.

Day 041:  A song you can remember from when you were in school.  Self Esteem by The Offspring.  We only listened to this one about 10559 times…..

Day 042:  A  song people wouldn’t think you’d like, but you do.  It is no secret that I am NOT a country music fan.  So, here’s a country song that I do actually like.  Time Marches On by Tracy Lawrence.  (It was a coin toss between this one and Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox by Joe Diffie.)

Day 043:  A song that was number one from any of your birthdays.  Happy 2nd birthday to me!  (Uh oh….giving away my age here….)  Centerfold by the J. Geils Band.

Day 044:  If you were to release an album, this song would be on it.  I’d like to think that if I released an album, all of the tracks would be originals, but we’re playing “what if” here.  And, let’s face it.  “What if” is the closest I’ll ever get to releasing an album.  🙂  How about Mercedes Benz by Janis Joplin?

Day 045:  A song by the Beatles.  Gotta go with Eleanor Rigby.

100 Day Song Challenge (036-040)

A continuation of my 100 Day Song Challenge choices.

Day 036:  The Eurovision Song Contest winner from the year you were born.  This should be interesting……  What’s Another Year by Johnny Logan

Day 037:  The worst song you have in your collection.  That’s really hard to say.  How about the worst on my most recently listened to playlist?  Brand New Key by Melanie.

Day 038:  A song that gets you motivated.  When I’m cleaning house, which takes much motivation on my part, I like to listen to high-energy songs with a good beat that I can do awkward dance moves to all over the house.  Like Bombs Over Baghdad by Outkast.  I know I’ve already picked an Outkast song, but oh well….

Day 039:  The first random song that comes to mind.  No Light, No Light by Florence + the Machine.  Been stuck in my head all day.

Day 040:  A song from the 1950s.  Sixteen Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford (1955).  Timeless little ditty.

100 Day Song Challenge (031-035)

A continuation of my 100 Day Song Challenge.

Day 031:  If you were to have a party for your birthday, this song has to be played.  Really, I’m not much of a partier, and I don’t have a go-to song, so I’ll just pick something that is fun and makes me shake my booty.  Dance Off by Macklemore featuring Idris Elba.

Day 032:  A song in the current charts that you like the most. Currently  #1 on the alternative rock charts:  Wish I Knew You by The Revivalists.  Love it!

Day 033:  A really short song.  Vera by Pink Floyd.  It’s the shortest one I could think of off the top of my head.  (I love the whole album.)

Day 034:  A song performed by an actor/actress.  Hanging Tree by Jennifer Lawrence.

Day 035:  A song from a classic rock band.  Eenie meenie miney mo.  Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf.

100 Day Song Challenge (026-030)

A continuation of my 100 Day Song Challenge.

Day 026:  A good 60s song.  Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater Revival.  Love love love love love CCR.  Epitome of rock in my humble opinion.  Great melodies.  Great lyrics.  Soulful voices.

Day 027:  A song with a number in it.  7 Years by Lukas Graham.  I find this song to be beautiful.  “Soon I”ll be sixty years old.  My daddy got sixty-one.  Remember life and then your life becomes a better one.”

Day 028:  A really old song.  Amazing Grace.  Interweb research, which of course must be accurate because everything on the web is true, tells me that it was originally published in 1779.  Here is the song being played on the bagpipes, because I love bagpipes and all other ancient, ancestral types of music.  It gives me chills.

Day 029:  A Michael Jackson song.  Beat It.  I’m not much of a Michael Jackson fan.  I picked this one because I like Fall Out Boy’s cover of it.  🙂

Day 030:  One of the oldest songs that you like.  Where Did You Sleep Last Night? by Leadbelly.  Later covered quite awesomely by Nirvana.

100 Day Song Challenge (021-025)

A continuation of my 100 Day Song Challenge.

Day 021:  A song with a name in it.  Black Betty by Ram Jam.  Originally by Leadbelly.  Woah, Black Betty!  Bam da lam…..

Day 022:  A song that is over 7 minutes long.  American Pie by Don McLean.

Did you write the book of love
And do you have faith in God above
If the Bible tells you so?
Do you believe in rock and roll?

Day 023:  A song with no lyrics.  Technically, this song has lyrics, but this version doesn’t.  The Show Must Go On performed by 2Cellos.  These guys rock.  I was fortunate enough to see them perform in Austin in 2015, and I’m giddy with excitement to see them again in Austin this November!  If you ever have the chance to see them live DO IT!

Day 024:  A good 70s song.  Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap by AC/DC.  My current location may or may not have inspired this choice.

Day 025:  A song you’d ask a DJ to play at a party.  How about something old school?  Shoop by Salt-N-Pepa.  ***does some pitiful little dance moves***
